Paul Simon's daughter, Lulu Simon, has announced that she hates Richard Gere. The singer hopped onto her Instagram Stories this week and accused Richard of buying her family home in Connecticut, only to sell it to real estate developers who plan on destroying it.
"Just in case anyone was wondering if I still hate Richard Gere—I do!" she wrote over a selfie + screenshot of an article about Richard's plans for the home. "He bought my childhood home. Promised he would take care of the land as condition of his purchase. Proceeded to never actually move in & just sold it to a developer as 9 separate plots :)."
She then added "Hate! Him!" for good measure and also posted a photo of Richard's face surrounded by dogs with "I hope my dead pets buried in that backyard haunt you until you descend into a slow and unrelenting madness."
Some background on the house? Richard reportedly bought it in 2022, and then sold if for $10.75 million two years later. Meanwhile, the home itself dates to 1938 and has a ton of gorgeous period details.
Sadly, it's going to be torn down in and replaced by a "nine-property development," though Hudson Valley House Parts is working to salvage what they can. As they put it on Instagram, "Over the past month our team has been working to save the pieces that we can from the landfill. Thank you for sharing our story and, more importantly, the work as we hope to bring awareness to historic architecture and saving these pieces before they are gone."
